MoMA - Tim Burton Exhibition!!

This looks dope!!

Man running around with scissor hands, homicidal barber baking human pot pies and the king of Halloween with a Christmas fetish are all characters we recognize as distinctly Tim Burton- a little creepy, a little weird, but all heart. While Burton’s film protagonists resonate more amongst the public, the off beat director/writer/illustrator does have an impressive portfolio of stories and art work, including a publication called “The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories”!

This coming winter, Burton is bringing his work to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City for a self-titled solo exhibition. The exhibition will feature art work from the conceptualization and production of his films as well as never- seen- before pieces from his non-professional time. Chock-full of cynicism, dark humor, and most of all, tear-rendering sentimentality, the exhibition promises to wow in a wide variety of medium ranging from drawings and paintings to digital art and props and costumes.

Mark down the dates and save sometime this coming winter for a good walk through of Tim Burton’s work in a new setting that doesn’t involve THX and large HD projectors. We promise this will be far from a nightmare before Christmas.
